Rare Comics Collected by Author Robert Weinberg

Robert Weinberg

Rare Comic Books

Bob started reading comic books when he was six years old, back in 1952. He remembers reading plenty of EC horror comics, Batman, Superman, and Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge. The first comic book Bob collected was Blackhawk.

Though Bob considers himself primarily a collector of science fiction, fantasy and horror books, magazines and art, he does have a fairly large number of comics. Bob's favorite comic book writer and artist is Carl Barks, the creator of Uncle Scrooge and one of the true geniuses of the comics medium. Bob also thinks very highly of the art of Murphy Anderson, especially his work on Strange Adventures and Mystery in Space. And he loves the art of Wally Wood, Roy Krenkel and most of the artists who worked for EC.

Following are the covers of some of Bob's favorite comics in his collection. Click on any bookcover to see a larger version of it.
